Day 25

Today started out perfectly! I woke up, peed and brushed teeth, lit my candle and did a mala meditation. Then put on shoes and headed out for a walking meditation. I decided to do half the walk on the trails in the park near my house, Hammock Park. It was a great decision! I enjoyed some distance social interactions, too, saying hello to neighbors.

Back in time to get a shower and finish the dishes before work started. It really helped to start out so balanced, because next thing you know a WILD ASS storm blew in with a tornado warning and a lot of thunder that had the dog barking like crazy. And then logging into work and it seems I had a thunderstorm there as well.

The big storm has passed, and I’m on lunch break typing this. The afternoon will be jam packed with work, and my 13 new supervisees to introduce myself to!

Oh what a night…. storms came in the middle of the night sending the dog into a tizzy. I was able to get back to sleep about 2am, then boinked awake with free-floating anxiety about 5am. TOO EARLY. So I did my trick of Om Mani Padme Hum 108 times using my fingers instead of…

Today I didn’t really do any journaling, but I did attend a 1.75 hour yin/nidra yoga class with Tymi, and attended the daily 9:05am Warrior One meditation on Zoom. Been feeling a little under the weather thanks to pollen and not sleeping that great, so I’ll give myself a pass on the journaling. We did…

Today is Sunday, when I let myself start a little more slowly. After some kitchen work I sat down and did the Baron Baptiste Week 1 Presence guided meditation, for the proscribed 5 minutes. I’ve been doing my mantra mala meditation most days for months now, so this felt a little brief, but I did…

EQUANIMITY Today I really wanted to focus on being/feeling balanced and less scattered. In other words – equanimity, which is this week’s theme. I started my day with a mala meditation and meditative walk around the neighborhood. I went down some streets I hadn’t been on before, and really stayed present to the experience, drinking…
